I was thinking about it today, and my expectations for the mission trip are pretty extensive! I guess with something like this then you really know that whatever happens will be incredible. Knowing some people who have gone on missions before, I know that it’s a really life changing experience to bring you closer to God…I think the main thing I’d like to see at the end of the trip is the ability to actually follow God in whatever comes up as opposed to over thinking it or superimposing my own desires. And then I hope to get to know something about the Romanian culture! Even though the main goal of the experience is evangelization, it would be great to understand a totally different lifestyle and where they are coming from and yet how we can be connected by a common faith. I haven’t really heard much about Romania before and from the research I’ve done it looks like an incredible place…it would be so much fun to learn more about it! Also, I think that it will show me how I myself handle life outside of my comfort zone, and how well I’m able to project my faith towards other people and evangelize in a place completely different from where I usually have experience. Something like this is huge for me I think to figure out where I actually stand as a person without all the safeguards of being at home or in a secure environment 🙂 Then of course I’m looking forward to making friends with my fellow missionaries…already they all seem amazing! I can’t wait to know them personally and even get to know them a little before we get a chance to meet! It sounds like we all have a lot in common already. Otherwise, I think my main expectation is to have one of the greatest experiences of my life, and spread the word of God as best as I can!
